Abstract: Netflix's API is the central pipeline for delivering movie and TV show metadata to the hundreds of Netflix-branded streaming devices. The API has seen tremendous growth, increasing throughput from 600M requests a month to over 30B requests a month in just 15 months. This session will cover key technical decisions and implementations on how the API has been able to scale that effectively, that fast. The session will also cover key design and architectural decisions that will help the API continue to grow and become more effective as Netflix expands to new continents.
