Evan Cooke, Co-founder & CTO, Twilio
Evan is Co-Founder and CTO of Twilio. Twilio provides a webstandards-based API for businesses to build scalable, reliablecommunications applications that make and receive phone calls and sendand receive SMS messages. Evan was recently a Postdoctoral ResearchFellow in network security and distributed systems at the Universityof Michigan where he completed his M.S. and Ph.D. in computer science.

Abstract: Many APIs tend to be overly complex, poorly documented, and not
designed with the customer in mind. In this talk we'll explore some of
the lessons we've learned at Twilio building a team and designing and
building simple, powerful APIs that focus on the customer instead of
back-end requirements.
