Large Scale Discovery Systems at Google -- YouTube and Google Play

Location:
Bayview A/B
Time:
Tuesday, 4:05pm - 4:55pm
Abstract:

In this talk I will present an overview of two large scale content discovery products at Google - YouTube and Google Play.

Although the two products have different look-and-feel and even different user intent, there are several similarities underneath. Both have had explosive growth.

I will present a few techniques used for content annotation, search, and personalization in these two corpora that function at "Google scale".

I will also share a few thoughts on how developers could increase discovery and engagement as a part of Google Play and the Android ecosystem.
