Presentation: "Developing Products at the Speed and Scale of Google"

Time: Wednesday 14:05 - 15:05

Location: Franciscan I & II

Abstract: Google is well known in the industry as an innovative company that produces new products and features at a very fast pace. At the heart of all of this is the way software is developed at Google, such that the company can keep the rapid pace of development while keeping the quality of its products high.

While none of this would be possible without the smart engineers that the company already has, and continues to hire, another key part of Google’s success is the company’s investment in its developer infrastructure and tools.  In this talk, the speaker will share some of the key infrastructure elements that enable more than 6000 developers distributed over more than 40 offices to work together on more than 2000 projects using multiple programming languages on a single rooted code tree with 100s of millions of lines of code, yet delivering products at high quality and at a rapid pace.
