Presentation: "Creating a Culture of Code Review"
Time:
Friday 15:35 - 16:35
Location:
Concordia Room
Abstract: Done right, peer code review can dramatically improve the quality of
your software. Done wrong, it can waste time and engender resentment
and distrust amongst team members. In this talk, I'll describe how my
team at Atlassian successfully adopted a policy of peer reviewing
every commit to our codebase. I'll outline changes-- both cultural and
procedural-- that helped make this policy successful. Finally, I'll
try to quantify the cost of adopting such a policy, using data
gathered from our code review tool, Crucible.
