Web APIs are an increasingly ubiquitous part of the post-browser, mobile and multi-channel internet. Thousands of companies, from Sears to Netflix, have already started to expose Web APIs and witnessed the rapid growth of a sizeable ecosystem of 3rd party solutions consuming them at a scale unimaginable even a couple of years ago.
