Learning how to be an effective leader is never complete, and requires a growth mindset throughout your career. In this densely packed half-day workshop, Sarah Hagan (a data-driven leader known for building collaborative cultures at places like the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Redfin, and Nordstrom) leads the group through fundamentals of effective leadership, including:

  • Empathy, self-awareness, and understanding how you show up to work
  • Building relationships within your team and other stakeholders
  • Providing effective feedback and coaching
  • Leading through change and empowering your team to do their best work

The workshop focuses on practical, evidence-based tips and tools for leading effective teams and developing people. How can you make your team a differentiator in the 21st Century?

Research Manager & Data Scientist, People Analytics @gatesfoundation

Sarah Hagan, Ph.D. is the Research Manager of the People Analytics team at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation using analytics and behavioral psychology to understand employees and make work better. She works across BMGF’s People Operations teams to bring data to people practices and ensure they're making the best decisions about employees. Before that, she worked at Redfin and Nordstrom conducting research and designing employee programs to continuously improve culture, leadership, and work environment. Prior to industry, Sarah spent a decade in academia researching personality, human behavior, and emotional regulation, and has a bunch of publications that she's pretty sure have only been read by her mom.
