Laurence Moroney is a Technology Evangelist for Silverlight at Microsoft. He is the author of 10 computer books, including 'Programming Web.NEXT' from Microsoft Press.

Laurence has 15 years experience in the technology industry, having worked as a developer and architect in systems as diverse as jail security, casinos, financial services and interoperability.

Abstract:

This session will describe the features of Microsoft Silverlight 1.0 and the enhancements that are forthcoming in version 1.1.

It will introduce the designer/developer continuum, the JavaScript programming APIs, the .NET Framework for Silverlight and how Silverlight can be used to build Next Generation web applications. Laurce will also show the tools of the trade for designers and developers, as well as building a video player for the Web from the ground up.
