Presentation: "Flex and Air in the Trenches: 6 Months of Real World Enterprise Experiences"

Time: Wednesday 14:15 - 15:15

Location: Cornell

Abstract:

What are Flex and Air's strengths? Where are the warts and issues in using it for everyday application development?

This session will seek to answer those questions by detailing the use of Flex and Air over the course of the last 6 months as a key piece of a platform for an online gaming company.

It will cover the RIA framework's benefits such as rapid application development as well as weaknesses such as lack of adequate load testing support.

The session will also explore how Flex/Air map to common enterprise concepts including dependency injection, unit testing, and the model view controller pattern.
