Michael Coates is the Trust & Information Security Officer at Twitter and also a member of the global board of directors for OWASP, a nonprofit organization providing resources and communities to increase application security. Michael has been a leader in the security industry for over a decade where he focuses on building risk and security programs for technology companies such as Twitter, Mozilla, financial institutions and government. Featured as one of SC Magazine’s Influential IT security minds, Michael is a frequent speaker at security conferences such as BlackHat, RSA, FTC security panels and private enterprise security sessions. He holds an M.S. in Computer, Information and Network Security from DePaul University and a B.S in Computer Science from the University of Illinois.
