Presentation: "Mapping relational data model patterns to the App Engine Datastore"

Time: Thursday 11:45 - 12:45

Location: Metropolitan Ballroom

Abstract: Google App Engine for Java is a powerful cloud-computing platform designed to help developers more easily create and manage scalable, JVM-based web applications. In this talk we will discuss how JDO and JPA allow you to create a "soft schema" on top of App Engine's schema-less datastore, and the advantages this soft schema provides. We will also explore how typical data modeling techniques can be adapted to the datastore. Finally, we will discuss strategies for writing portable persistence code that runs on and off App Engine.
