Joseph Russell, VMware

Joe is part of the vFabric Data team where he focuses on Product Marketing for the portfolio of data products. Joe has been a critical advocate for VMware's internal investment in its emerging data business and Joe has played a key role in developing and evangelizing vFabric's Big, Fast, Flexible data story. Prior to VMware, Joe spent 5 years at Yahoo! where he most recently was part of the Zimbra business that was sold from Yahoo! to VMware in February 2010. Joe ran Finance, Operations and Strategy for the Zimbra business. Prior to Yahoo!, Joe spent five years doing technology mergers & acquisitions investment banking in New York and San Francisco. Joe graduated from the University of Washington with Honors with a BS in Economics and also holds a BSc from the London School of Economics and an MBA from Wharton at the University of Pennsylvania.
