Abstract
Software factories have an image problem. To some they’re a dirty word, an invitation to slop, to incidents, to developers reduced to prompt pushers. To others they’re the future, the answer to shipping more and the new shape of teams. Neither is wrong.
The problem is that nobody talks about what a software factory actually entails. It’s the classic draw-two-circles-then-draw-the-rest-of-the-owl. While it may feel impossible to get started, you’re probably already building one and didn’t even know it. Building your software factory isn’t going to take a huge leap to go all in, we’ll see how you can take it one step at a time.
This session gives you a blueprint for your team’s factory, technically and organizationally: how to prepare your codebase, what to build first, and how to get code you love from your factory. Come learn how your team’s output stops being the code and becomes the factory itself.
$2,995, Conference (3 days). Current pricing ends November 10th. All pass options.
QCon San Francisco 2026 is a three day conference for senior software engineers, architects and team leads. An international program committee of working engineers selects every session. Patterns and practices, not products and pitches.
