Abstract
The systems that run the enterprise are the hardest to change. Poor software quality costs U.S. organizations an estimated $2.4 trillion a year, yet modernization keeps stalling on hidden dependencies and a false choice: leave the system alone or rewrite it.
This session shows a third path. Starting from a migration plan, an AI coding agent works inside the developer's editor and executes it step by step. It explains unfamiliar code, resolves issues automated tooling leaves behind, modernizes interfaces, and builds new services on top of existing code. Developers direct the work in plain language and approve every change, while the agent generates tests to validate each step and keeps documentation in sync with the code.
Attendees will leave knowing where agents fit in a real modernization program, which tasks to hand off and which to keep, and how to reduce migration risk without a rewrite.

To some they’re a dirty word, an invitation to slop, to incidents, to developers reduced to prompt pushers. To others they’re the future, the answer to shipping more and the new shape of teams. Neither is wrong. 15:55 Marina Sponsored Code is abundant, Confidence is Scarce: What 1K Devs Say about Coding with Agents Anirban Chatterjee Product Marketing Leader @Sonar Developers now estimate that AI generates or assists 65% of the code they commit, up from 42% a year ago.
