What is QCon?
QCon is a practitioner-driven conference designed for senior software engineers, team leads and architects. Plus, we always have awesome speakers!
We invite students, interns and other IT-interested individuals to volunteer at QCon and participate.
What to expect from this Volunteer Opportunity?
As a QCon volunteer, you'll play a key role in ensuring the event runs smoothly by providing onsite logistical support. Your tasks may include badge scanning, assisting with registration, directing attendees, monitoring conference and tutorial rooms, and other event-related responsibilities.
Serving as a room monitor gives you the opportunity to attend select presentations and training sessions for free in exchange for your help.
Typical days run from 7AM to 6PM from Monday - Wednesday, and from 8AM to 5PM from Thursday - Friday. You'll also be invited to join the conference's social events, giving you even more chances to network and connect with industry professionals.
Requirements/Preferences:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Availability for at least 3 full conference days is highly preferred
- Availability for 2 training days is desirable
- Availability between 7AM - 6PM is preferred
- Volunteers are responsible for their own travel and accommodation arrangements
Confirmed volunteers will gain:
- Free access to most QCon San Francisco 2025 recorded sessions
- Free access to our InfoQ live 2026 events
- Breakfast and Lunch provided at the venue during the conference
- Special Volunteer T-Shirts
- Special Volunteer Prize Raffle (There will be a drawing for a prize on the last day of the event. To qualify, you must complete at least 3 full days of volunteer work.)
- Access to the conference social events
- Volunteer Certification (If requested via Volunteer Form)
We are looking for volunteers who are available at least 3 full days during the conference days (between Monday and Wednesday). Volunteers who have more availability will be given priority.
Please note that representatives from sponsor companies are not eligible to volunteer for QCon.
