Beautiful Code

Host: Aino Corry

A book on Beautiful Code sells itself on promising to answer this question in part: "How do the experts solve difficult problems in software development?" In this book, leading computer scientists offer case studies that reveal how they found unusual, carefully designed solutions to high-profile projects. One comment on this book was: "For one chapter, beauty is a small and titillating act of recursion; for the next, it's that a massive and complicated integrated system could be delivered quickly and cheaply." This says it all; what do we mean by beautiful code and is beauty objective?
