Abstract:

A couple of years ago, LinkedIn launched a project to apply our wealth of data about career outcomes to derive better insights about higher education. We realized that we were in a unique position to provide valuable data products for students, alumni, and universities.

In this talk, I'll describe some of the products we've built, including how we determined school similarity and how we identified notable alumni. A key part of this effort has been standardizing the underlying data. I'll discuss these and other product and technology challenges we've faced as we've built products to serve the higher education sector.
