QCon is a practitioner-driven conference designed for team leads, architects and project management. There is no other event in the US with similar opportunities for learning, networking, and tracking innovation occurring in the enterprise software development community. Plus, we always have awesome speakers!

The result is a high quality conference experience where a tremendous amount of attention and investment has gone into having the best content on the most important topics presented by the leaders in our community, staged in an intimate environment with the best food and comforts needed to support as much learning and networking as possible.

QCon invites students and other technology-interested individuals to join us. As a volunteer at QCon San Francisco, you get a chance to mingle with and meet the hottest rock stars of Java, Object Orientation and .NET. Each QCon has an average of 100 speakers.

The 2013 QCon San Francisco Conference provides 5 content-rich days from Monday, November 11th until Friday, November 15th. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday are for the main conference and Thursday and Friday are for tutorials (hands-on training).

What to Expect

As QCon volunteer you will help with 16-hours (usually spread over 2 or 3 days) of logistical onsite support during the conference – including badge scanning, directing attendees to their seats, registration staffing and other similar onsite event duties. In return for your volunteer work, you will be given carte blanche entrance to sessions of your choosing (space permitting, paid attendees get first-served preference) and on-site social events for free, with the exception of those where you will be fulfilling your 16-hour volunteer commitment.

There will also be a drawing for an iPad on the last day of the event - for the volunteers only. You will need to have fulfilled your 16-hour commitment to be able to win.

We will try to accommodate specific schedules. Volunteers are expected to take care of their own transportation, parking and lodging. Food will be provided during the course of the week as part of the conference. If you need a volunteer certification at the end of the week for your resume, please let us know.

The inscriptions to volunteer at QCon SF are now closed. See you in New York in June or in San Francisco next year!
