Before that he ran reddit, an online community for sharing and discussing interesting things on the internet that does more than four billion pageviews a month. Both run their entire operations on Amazon's EC2. Jeremy has keynoted at conferences such as PyCon and Cloud Connect, and holds a cognitive Science degree from UC Berkeley.

In this session, Jeremy Edberg, Lead Site Reliability Engineer for Netflix, will discuss how Netflix designs their systems and deployment processes to help the service survive both catastrophic events like zone and regional outages and less catastrophic events like network latency and random instance death. There will be an extra long Q&A session, so come prepared to ask any questions you might have about how Netflix runs on AWS!
