Karen is the Director of Engineering for Product Edge Systems, an organization responsible for Netflix consumer identity and access management solutions, building and operating highly available API orchestration layers, and delivering critical streaming playback and gaming services.  Prior to Netflix, Karen led architecture teams @Ebay and @Sun, with a decade-long detour to lead engineering for an eCommerce start-up.  Karen is passionate about inclusion and diversity in technology organizations, and how to encourage young people from under-represented communities to start their journey towards our incredible world of ever-changing technology.
