Abstract
If you think AI agents code like junior engineers that's because you set it up to code like a junior engineer. AI is a tool, not a magic wand, and like any tool you need to take time to learn and sharpen it. After coding with agents as the engineering and product lead for Augment CLI from prototype to GA, I've learned a thing or two about what makes coding agents work and the pitfalls most engineers run into. In this session we'll dive deep into what context matters, how to plan and implement with precision, and how to combine subagents to bring it all together. What better way to learn how to get the most out of a coding agent than by dissecting how they work under the hood?
