Sarah is a Senior Software Engineer at Duolingo working on AI tooling and AI adoption. Her recent projects cover many aspects of the software development lifecycle, including:
- Automating low-risk pull request code review through a risk-scoring eval bot, presented at QCon London
- Organizing early access programs with external companies to get new technology into the hands of our developers fast, recognized with the Duolingo Principle award
- Building personalized observability dashboards for tracking AI tool usage and costs across platforms
- Expanding the BuildingHub ecosystem, Duolingo’s internal AI artifact publisher, through new connectors (come hear about it at QCon San Francisco), scaled app indexing and search, mobile rendering, and more!
Sarah is passionate about the growing intersection of engineering, product, and design as AI tools create increasingly blended roles in building products.

No New Backend: The API Layer Behind 800+ Agent-Built Apps at Duolingo
At Duolingo, anyone (engineer or not) can describe an internal tool and get a working app back, deployed against real company systems. That's BuildingHub, and 350 Duolingo employees have created at least one app with it.
