Sri Annapurna Bhupatiraju is a Director and Principal Engineer at BlackRock and one of the founding members of BlackRock AI Labs, the firm’s center for innovation in artificial intelligence. AI Labs brings together researchers, data scientists, and engineers to advance AI research and translate it into solutions for complex challenges across finance and technology. Sri develops AI solutions, platforms, and services that bring emerging research into scalable, production-grade capabilities across the firm. She also served as the lead AI architect for Asimov, BlackRock’s investment research platform, helping shape its technical architecture and evolution from early experimentation to a capability adopted across multiple investment pillars. Her expertise spans agentic AI, cloud-native architecture, knowledge and data systems, and the engineering foundations required to operate AI reliably at enterprise scale. She holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Northeastern University in Boston.
