Speaker: Swayam Barik
He / him / his
AI Forward Deployed Engineer @IBM
Swayam Barik is an AI Forward Deployed Engineer at IBM, working alongside client teams to take AI from idea to pilot, through production, and into real adoption and measurable value. He has spent five years building software across every stage of company maturity, from serving as the third engineer at an early-stage startup working on applied AI before it became the default conversation, to shipping at scale at major corporations like LinkedIn & now IBM. That range shapes how he works with clients: he has run full implementations across the AIDLC lifecycle end to end himself, so he understands both what a system takes to build and what it takes for a business to trust it, operate it, and keep getting value from it after the pilot ends. His work sits at the point where enterprise ambition meets real constraints, translating what a client wants AI to do into architecture, working software, and the change in how their teams actually operate. He is a frequent speaker at technical conferences, including AWS re:Invent 2025 and IBM’s developer academy to 250 new engineers at IBM Silicon Valley Labs. Swayam is based in San Francisco, California.

Beyond the Model: Engineering the Agent Harness for Autonomous Software Delivery
Generating code is no longer the hard part. The hard part is coordinating agents so their work is verifiable, governed, and repeatable across a real engineering organization. In practice, the model is rarely the bottleneck — the harness around it is.
